Okay, loving the new "tea prep" introductions before we're treated with the main course! Reading about Paris from your lens was incredible––I was once infatuated with going to Afropunk in Paris after attending it in Brooklyn, so to read about your dynamic experience there felt as if a part of me were actually there in the bustling crowds and that family reunion vibe! I can't get enough of these travel diaries <3
Aww love that, tea prep before the main course!! Yes, so that it digests well haha thanks for running with it.
I can totally get that, I was also so in love with the idea of going to Afropunk Brooklyn after going to the Paris and London events. The London one was a bit of a letdown for me (the Londoners didn't know how to loosen up and it seemed like just a fashion show rather than the original concept. It was just a one-day event rather than a weekend so maybe it was that too). But I'm glad that I could offer insight into my time and offer a vibe for you to sit with. Love for the comment <3
Wonderful storytelling Amara (as always). I giggled at the beginning - the ants ARE in love with you!! As is the doctor fly!! And who are we to tell them who they can and can’t love. Glad you’re settling into life in Belize ❤️🧡💛 may no more washing machines flood under your touch x
Thank you so much Martha! And yes, may all washing machines act correct and all ants and doctor flies leave me alone, respectfully. Loool life in Belize is full of colour. Grateful to be settling well <3
A warm and invigorating read I've been relishing. These anecdotes are all profound and so interesting to read from halfway across the world. The best part: seeing a primary source on the proliferation of Blackness, with safety, community, joy, and imagination. As it should be. Thanks for sharing.
Paris. Paris. Paris. She’s been on the mind lately. I appreciated your stories of acquaintancing. Reminded me of my own in some ways and other ways I would love to experience her, in community! The pickpocketing chile still has be tense loll
Ah, Tobi! I appreciate you and glad that you're hoping to re-experience Paris and the little corners of community that exist. I hope your next trip(s? because sagas are always goood) unveil something entirely perfect. I'm already claiming the pick-pocketers will never with you!
I’m so glad I get to live vicariously through these vivid chronicles. AfroPunk in the 2010s is so perfect for a Parisian jaunt. And what an epic way to turn 22! And I love how you’re like, “oh hey, Paris, I’m good” now.
Tell Belize hello for me and please eat some snapper on my behalf (if you eat fish). But don’t say a word to those fresh ants.
Sharifa coming for the fresh ants ahaha. I appreciate your comment and absolutely, 2010s Afropunk was a vibe! I will offer your greetings to this beautiful place and enjoy a snapper in your name!

I'm with @ayannanicole! The "tea prep" is a thirst quencher! I love how it sets up the anticipation of what is to come.

Felt. Thank you so much. Appreciate your insights as always and glad I could offer that example from all the way over there
