Your writing is so special. This is exactly the sort of writing I crave. It feels sacred, lush, and literary, like I'm reading an odessey. I too see so many of my own journeys reflected in your writing and it's truly an honor to see someone living as poetically, truthfully, and soulfully as you are. Your path is truly a light, so thank you. 🌞

Thank you so much sweet. Appreciate you seeing me and taking time to reflect on this. An odyssey, ugh, what a beautiful description. Ever since coming across your work I've been thinking about how being on this journey has connected me with some of the most soulful, open-hearted and minded beings and I'm thankful for that. Thanks again for the kind words and time spent here.

Landed here and what perfect timing as I recover from a stomach bug after my trip to CDMX. I’m grateful it hit after the trip and I fathom to blame it on something I ate in Baltimore. Nonetheless it’s occurring after asking to be divorced and ultimately purged of past soul ties for 30 days and then this hits on the 32nd day, the same age as I am. God is speaking loud & clear.

I love when divine timing does its thing. Hoping for a smooth recovery and also for more inner knowing as you move through this season. Thanks for landing here and taking time with this piece!

You wrote so beautifully about the sickness that ailed me twice this year after 2 trips to West Africa.. I'm still trying to figure out why this happened after returning home and not during my time in either Ghana or Nigeria

Thanks so much for sharing and being here <3 I think it's strange that it happened when you got home. I'm learning about gut microbiome and how we're able to digest and process food from the lands we're raised in way better than anywhere else. Not sure how to connect this but it might be an integration thing as your body gets used to new spaces. Not enough people talk about what being nomadic does to your gut health! I hope you are healed/healing up well

This was vibrant.

I cackled about your details on the inefficiency of sandals and the cumbersomeness of shoes. Tropical downpours are the exact reason I have platform Teva’s - elevated enough that even when wet, my feet won’t be muddy, and they have sneaker-style grip. I’ve brought them on every adventure and never looked back.

I have to add San Cris to my to-go list. Thank you for the immersive experience.

Thank you so much for the recommendation!! I will have to look into those ahhah. Also, I love the word vibrant. That is exactly how I will go on to describe San Cris from now on. I hope you go and see this town in all of it's colourfulness and quiet corners.

Wow, what a riveting piece on your traveling journey! I absolutely love your writing and the rawness of every detail. This part especially resonates with me:

“In truth, Chiapas was a beautiful holding space. I felt incredibly held by individuals, by song, by a community of other Black nomads, Black mothers, Black artists who also wanted to live elsewhere. I was taught to eat well, to savor friends and the tables that will hold us, to heal myself, and be careful in my self-mending, that it can be done here, in a mountain town well above the sea and so, it can be done anywhere; I can do it everywhere.”

I can’t wait to read more!
